Does OR require Double slashes for Alias path?

Got this Warning: "Warning: Cannot find A:\SH-ORTS\trains\trainset\TU_UP2428\ car sound file ....UP2493SoundU33Ceng.sms"

Found SMS file was in proper folder.

Edited sound line from: "Sound ( "..\..\UP2493\Sound\U33Ceng.sms" )"
to "Sound ( "..\\..\\UP2493\\Sound\\U33Ceng.sms" )"
ran same consist and did not receive warning.

Backslashes must be doubled up because of support for escape codes (\n and \t). (Personally, I would only have expected this inside quoted strings, but OR does it outside as well.)

Charles, I started a thread about the proper way to write the alias line.... what type of slash to use and how many. Mainly because I am not as familiar as many of you folks in coding, etc. and was confused by all the different ways I saw.
Single backslash, single forward slash, double slashed, just all manner of slashes.

The course I follow now is to use \\ in all alias statements, sound and cab. No mistakes that way. Since I started switching over to that scheme, many odd errors of missing (not really) files have stopped.

Thanks for the answer. Guess some MSTS add-on creators, both payware and freeware need to take notice of that.
