This was a wooden frame 31 ft caboose that operated on the DNWP built for the RR by Smith & Barney. It had truss rods and standard feature for a caboose service car of its type and era.

Three were three of this exact type and then three more with some alterations that followed that served the Railroad thru its history.

This model was made by Tim Muir who very kindly allowed for its alteration for service on the DNWP. The edits and refit of the model were generously done by Wayne Campbell, the texture was repainted by me, and the history and data and plans of the caboose were graciously shared by John Emmot of the Denver Salt Lake Historical Society. This model has been tested in Open Rails and MSTS.

No commercial use may be made without permission of the makers, of any kind. No further use or alteration of the model is allowed withouth permission of Tim Muir. It is shared without any guarentee or liabllity and you use at your own risk. The historic photo was sourced from a book by E. Bollinger called the Moffat Road which has a full history of this remarkable chapter of railroad history.
