I"m upgrading a route with some new railroad crossing equipment and I found that copying over the position coordinates from a static object like the crossing mast to a level crossing object like the flasher lights doesn't reposition the level crossing object. This makes building custom crossings more tedious than on the MSTS route editor. Is there a setting I can change to the level crossing objects or has this not been implemented?

In MSTS a crossing object on a single track crossing is centered* on the track. For example, for the two single signals, one each side, for left / right, of the "right of way", 0/0 is on the centerline of the track.

|| c|l ||

In the case of a twin track the centerline of the signals/crossing object is centered midway between the two tracks.

%......|| ||....c|l....|| ||......%

I wonder if the diagram helps?

Animation is open/down, example: frame0 the gate is open, or arms up, frame1 the gate is shut, or arms down.

The animation of just the 2 frames has its options set in the crossing object's pull down menu in the RE. Here, from memory, you set up options, such as crossing soundFX activation distance, name of soundFX file and time it takes for the animation to run, ie time to drop arms / raise it, or, shut and open gates.

You require a crossing model setup as above for the number of tracks.

You may require a setpiece model if the crossing is unusual.

Cheers Bazza.

Yes, I see that copying position into crossings object doesn't work. It can be fixed in the future.
For now, first move crossing object to good place and then copy it's position and paste to a static object. This way it will work.

Is it possible (while editing an existing route) to remove signals without having TSRE5 crashing to desktop ?

Just click e key for select mode then click on the red signal cone or the signal and TSRE5 crashes, this is on the default Europe1 route, Europe2 doesn't crash, and other routes don't crash ?

Oh. It is kind of a new bug. No one reported it earlier.
But I see that in early version of TSRE, Europe1 route also doesn't work.

Ok, found the bug:

In sigcfg file there is name:
UKSemaphore2.s
But in world file, there is:
UKSemaphore2.S

And TSRE is case sensitive here. And because TSRE can't find signalshape, it crashes.
Should it be case insensitive?

Probably, in most/all ? cases MSTS is case insensitive, I know for sure in the <filename>.s or .S MSTS doesn't care, so for legacy routes TSRE5 should be case insensitive for as much as possible.

I did try to troubleshoot the issue as much as I have the knowledge, but never considered case as MSTS/OR usually ignores case...
