Okay, so I've got an idea. I think Launchpad is ignoring fuzzy translations entirely, such that the following sequences can occur:

  • Added fuzzy: not translated according to Launchpad.
  • Added fuzzy, later marked not fuzzy: translated according to Launchpad.
  • Added not fuzzy: translated according to Launchpad.
  • Added not fuzzy, later marked fuzzy: translated according to Launchpad (but using earlier translation).

In other words, anything which has never had a non-fuzzy translation is what Launchpad considers "untranslated". This means that the "untranslated" number should be less than or equal to POEdit's untranslated + fuzzy. This is indeed true for German.

I'm sorry this has caused confusion, I did not expect fuzzy translations to do something like that in Launchpad, although I can see why they might in hindsight. Let me know if anything isn't clear, except for Launchpad's reasoning of course. :)

That explains it all! ;) for the info. :)

Currently, it all seems clear to me (except for Launchpad´s reasoning and some of the source strings ;) ).

I´ll open another thread, probably tomorrow, inquiring about said unclear source strings.

Cheers, Markus

Quick follow-up: I found TrackViewer´s option to select the GUI langunga. It works just the same as it once did with ORTS itself (restart necessary after changing the language), but is "well-hidden" in "preferences" :)

Should TrackViewer´s GUI language default to the same as ORTS? It obviously is fully translatable, as everything I translated for it shows up properly.

Cheers, Markus

Ah, yeah, ideally it should but I suspect it's a little bit more work to hook up Track Viewer with the main preference system (even just the one option). If you make a note in the bug tracker, we can queue it up for post-1.0 if that sounds okay?

Due to the current inoperability of the Activity Editor, I removed (almost) all German translations for it, because I was unable to check their correctness. I also added (in the German translation) a comment "AE" to every string related to the AE. I think, as long as the AE is inoperable and not even officially accessible from the menu, it needs not be translated, especially if the translation can´t be checked for correctness.

Also, I found some more problems.

The first one is not necessarily related to translations directly: The multiplayer dispatcher window looks a little... "shaken up" for me:

Attached Image: Dispatcher.JPG

When viewed with ORTS set to English, there are no problems, however.

Also, it seems like for Contrib.ContentManager, only the window title is localizable, and that the Timetable editor is currently untranslatable (IE, it ships in one fixed language) - Is that true? (I know this is low priority - just wanted to mention it).

Cheers, Markus

Another problem: The wait point dialog of TrackViewer does not seem to translated (I have TV set to German, but that signle dialog is in English nevertheless).
