Two (2) D&RGW 3-Foot-Narrow-Gauge 30-Foot Short Reefers: #40 & #74

In 1908, the American Car & Foundry built fifty (50) new 30-ft long 20-ton capacity refrigerator cars
for the Denver & Rio Grande, known as "short" reefers and numbered from 32 to 81. They were rebuilt
in 1926 and were repainted with the Round "Scenic LIne" herald. In the 1940s, they were repainted
with the "Flying Rio Grande" scheme that lasted to the end of service in 1957.

These cars, #40 & #74, have the "Flying Rio Grande" paint scheme.
Photos of these cars from the 1940s and 1950s show that Reefer #40 had red/brown side door hardware,
while Reefer #74 had yellow side door hardware. These cars are painted per the photos.

They are provided Loaded and Empty, and with a choice of Open or Shut Ice Hatches.

Model and Textures by "Sandy River Tom" Werb, except where noted below.
