I updated Java to the latest version and Routeriter is very unhappy.
I went back to an older version of Java and Routeriter is happy again.
I use Windows Vista home premium 32 bit.
No comments of symphony for me please.
My PC is not one of the latest and when I win the lottery I will get the latest and greatest PC.
Regards Geoff.

Hi Bazza,
The "Mad Monk" Abbott survived today.
The bookies have opened a market on how long it will be before he is finally given the boot.

Hi Engmod,
After working out how to do it as you suggested it did magically work.
Now back to my other problem with my Russian steam locos not releasing the brakes in OR.
Thanks Geoff.

That works for me. One other thing, though: uninstall your older Java version(s) unless you absolutely need one for some unintelligent application. Having multiple versions installed can confuse things, and leaves those old registry entries dangling around. If you're using a 64-bit browser, you might have to do the uninstall manually from the Windows control panel; in 64-bit Firefox at least, Java doesn't run so the little applet that cleans up after a new Java install also doesn't work. That may also be why the automatic Java update doesn't work for me. Then move the classes folder as noted, and delete the now-empty old Java directories.
It should not be necessary, but I've sometimes had RR do the Java Fail if I don't have the classes folder in BOTH the 32-bit (Program Files (x86)) and 64-bit (Program Files) Java installations. I need both Javas due to using 64-bit browsers and LibreOffice. Again, *should* not be necessary - classes folder should only need to be in the 32-bit Java folder because RR is a 32-bit application - but be aware of the possibility.
