...V Scale Creations has focused on bringing Turn of the Century railroading to Microsoft Train Simulator for ten years. We previously reviewed the Ozark Northern, and now we're taking a look at their first creation. How does this route work in bringing the past of railroading into the present? We'll find out in this review...at the railyard!

Very good video Nick! I agree with what you said, this route could use some updating with textures, modeling, as well as the feel of it.
Overall, nice route.

Dag Nabbit Nick! Stop posting these! I'm running out of money I don't even have yet! Brilliant, I'm gonna burn through $100 bucks or more this summer, I know it; this, Ozark Northern, the BLW MKT Pack...
Wait a minute, is this the route whose tracks the Eureka Springs and North Arkansas tourist railroad runs on nowabadys? ;)

St. Louis & North Arkansas upgrade recommended? Maybe it could be done as a freeware "bonus" adding the necessary shapes, modified world files, and ground textures accessible by way of the same registration key as the StL&NA route, like the Dundas Sub with some extra safeguards.
Of course, if that's the case, I'd be willing to get some of my irons outta the fire in order to throw on this new one! Timesaver's out, next should be the Cuesta 2.0 (SLO - Paso Robles) or the Salinas if I get carried away, and the CFNR will pop out somewhere in that mix.
But yea, if Andre's interested in updating the route, I'd be more than willing to hop onboard. Perhaps I could do a 1920s variant with a few Teardrop bells on it, too!

Marvelous video as usual Nick. :cool3:
Speaking of upgrades to the route, have you considered possibly doing a follow up review of the Jon Davis Loco and stock upgrade?
Looking forward to your next offering.
Best,
Paul :oldstry:

Great video as always Nick! And the route and trains look very similar to the I.B&O route that used to run up here in Ontario just south of Algonquin Park. Could the Coal.ace be swapped with the Wood.ace used in the engine tenders? The amount of act's sound intriguing too. I might splurge and add this route to my roster as well. ;)

2004? Wow, it's been a while. I took my first trembling steps in 3D modeling back then...
Great video, Nick. ;)

Hi Fella's!
First off, thanks for the kind words about the lil' North Arkansas. I felt Nick did a good job of presenting it as it is: A fun little route that was built a looooong time ago! I personally didn't use the supplied equipment except for the activity creation. Once Jon delivered his North Arkansas Equipment Pack to me, I switched to that and never looked back.
As for updating:
There are already several updates and add-ons available at the Trainsim.com File Library. Among those that I can recall offhand would be: Night texture updates, additional freeware equipment, a new engine, etc.
As for updating:
I'm not against a 3rd party update project for it. Great care would need to be exercised in regards to applicable EULA's of any freeware used in said upgrade. Should such a 3rd party upgrade for North Arkansas owners actually get completed to the point of being ready for distribution, assuming the size isn't prohibitive, I could host it using my V Scale Creations web space.
