The 991 comes sprinting through Franklin Canyon, CA., on this warm summers eve. The sun is almost gone as this train runs 6+ hours behind today.

The A-SDGBAR-15A gets an earlier start out of San Diego tonight...

Image 1&2) Seen between Downtown and Old Town San Diego, the train is creeping along until it clears CP Ash.
Image 3) Having cleared CP Ash and is now bolting through Old Town, the crew doesn't know the trouble ahead.
Image 4) In a few short minutes at MP 259.5 the PTC will disagree with the signal and dump the train into Emergency, putting the headend just a few feet shy of 258 when it stops...The next siding at Elvira will be taken so to let a couple of Coasters and Amtrak by while troubleshooting.

Amtrak San Joaquin #716 seen along various parts of the Cal-P between Oakland and Martinez, CA.

Image 1) About to knock the signal at CP King, 2012 whistles off for a trespasser ahead at the street crossing.
Image 2 & 3) Blasting through Berkeley, CA., 716 has no stop here.
Image 4) Rounding the curve outside Point Pinole Regional Park, the train gets back down to track speed for the curves ahead.
Image 5) Eckley Pier is up next as 716 meets an autorack train at Costa.
Image 6 & 7) Ozol and Martinez are up next as this ends the chase for me.
