A batch of 8,000 gallon tank cars built by General American Tank Car (and a few by the
Pennsylvania Tank and Car Company). These cars can be distinguished from other tank cars of their era by the two rung ladders at the ends of the cars and straight sill.

This is a low poly (~2200), low detail model that is close but not exact. However, it is the only model for tank cars built by General American Tank Car (and Pennsylvania Tank and Car Company)

These cars hauled many commodities, but predominant was oil and kindred products. Silver tank cars hauled gasoline or airplane fuel (which was also hauled in black tank cars)

In the steam and transition era's the North American tank car fleet was 25% owned by Union Tank Car Lines, 25% by General American with almost all of the rest owned by private owners rather than railroads. The majority of private owner cars had only reporting marks. Most UTLX cars were built to their proprietary X-3 design (modeled by Rick Franzosa in the PRR4 set available from valleypass.com/sales, but a few were purchased from General American including the one represented in this set.
