You said this was recorded from the Fillmore & Western. What engine was it recorded from? I don't know if 14 operated in the 80's. Perhaps you could correct me on this.

It might have been Great Western 51, which worked the Fillmore back then. I dunno though.

Nope, couldn't have been. 51 operated on the F&W from 1993 to 2003, while the creator said this recording was made in the 80's. Plus, as far as I know, 51 wore her original (I think) Nathan 5-chime copy (not sure exactly what it is due to very little information) on the F&W. This home video is the only video to show 51 on the F&W. The video has this super annoying clicking which happens twice per second, but it thankfully doesn't completely mask her whistle.

The recording was fromVentura County Railroad #2 summer of 1980 However I could not use that recording for Grainy and pop noise issues. That whistle was rescued from S-12 0-6-0 #1277 and its whereabouts today are unknown. ( owner passed away collections went to calfiornia state railroad museum )
Here is SP/T&NO Mk-5 #745 which sports two whistles an SP Built Short Bell 6-Chime and a Chinese Made Star 5-Chime suitable knock off for SP/UP and it is one of these whistles used.
SP M-6 #1744 has a decent 6-chime on her at SLRG. I am still searching for more suitable sounds especially looking for a Western Pacific Hancock Short Bell 3-Chime Whistle.

Looks like Chad got it! I forgot about that video. I guess the uploader meant Fort Worth & Western.
