File Category: Hoppers Std Gauge

This car was built in the Wabash shops in 1943 using much older Andrews trucks. Based in a 1947 photograph on PRR in Harrisburg PA found in The Postwar Freight Car Fleet by Ted Culotta and Larry Kline. Panel sides were popular in the thirties in rebuilds of older cars as a means to increase capacity, but almost all rebuilds of smaller USRA and earlier 30' hoppers with less capacity than this one, built to the then-current AAR twin hopper dimensions. Model by Dick Cowen; Texture reskin by Christopher Parker.
Meant as a companion to the BLWZT PRR 1950 Pack.
