I think that this may have been discussed before, but I don't find it. On several of my routes, I have "glowing track" in places (switches particularly) with the winter night textures. I'm assuming this is some sort of shader issue. Is there a "fix" that I can make to the track textures to make this go away?

Thanks.

Identifying a freely available route and location would help; if there's anything wrong, it'll be that the wrong MSTS shader is being selected.

It's noticeable on Rick's latest Monon Route release. It appears to be a combination of snow textures and night shaders. The route uses Dynatracks. The route checks through Route-Riter, though Route-Riter may have substituted textures when it doesn't find them in the route.

It happens without snow as well. Looks like the track textures in those locations are using a day shader for some reason. If you run into Bedford towards Louisville, the first one is a switch that is half day and half night, day on the straight, night on the diverge.

I see lightning differences between switch, and normal rail segments, however it's barely noticeable. It seems, the normal rail segments have a specular reflection, but the switches haven't.

Glowing switches in winter? Surely that's just someone setting point heating too hot ... :) .

Well, I think it also happens in other seasons... I believe it can be related (or it is the same...) to this problem.
I think it can also be related to the tracks when they are replaced by Dynatrack to make the superelevation...
Here's 2 screenshots at Ústí nad Labem on the Czech payware route Trať 321 at around 20H:

Now during daytime:

Since that it's known that it is not possible to have two different dynamic tracks (for different textures, I mean), I believe this is what happens...

Yeah, superelevation uses dyntrack which, for some reason, was setting "enable night textures" on the ballast (but not the rails). It only actually has any effect on this route because there are night versions of the track textures... but it shouldn't be enabled, AFAICT.

Fixed in X.1890.

Good news, bad news with X1894 here. 1894 removed the glowing track textures on RMD East when I just checked it. However, the track sections that had been glowing in winter have been replaced with summer (snow-free) track textures instead. Same with the latest Monon Route release. I don't know whether is an OR issue or a missing winter texture issue at this point. I believe that both routes use Dynatracks.

Thanks.
