Thats interesting, care to share what graphics chip you have in your system?

I have an intel chip with win8.1 and it was always shown the graphics artifacts you describe. Fortunately ROute Editor & AE work fine along with Open Rails

From what I´ve read in other threads, the Intel (onboard) graphics chip will be the problem. No MSTS on Win8 without a proper NVidia graphics card (AMD won´t do either).

I got it to run on windows 8.1 but only in the windowed mode. It runs well at about 50 fps. In the what they call the dos mode which is the regular mode with memory set at 2048, it always crashes for me. It does run well in windows 7 on my laptop in the regular mode and it will follow the set up properly on wide screen with black bars on each side. This way msts is not stretched out. I still have a BENQ 19" square monitor which is perfect for msts. I still like to run msts but you are right, It is getting tougher with new windows systems.
