File Name: Vertical boiler shay
File Submitter: Shay 5
File Submitted: 18 Feb 2013
File Updated: 18 Feb 2013
File Category: NG Logging Equipment

This is a model of a NG Vertical boiler class A shay. This type of shay was used in the early days of logging operations. As a class A shay, it only has 2 cylinders. These engines were usually the first to be sold or scrapped when logging railroads grew and bigger power was needed. This model is not based on any particular vertical boiler shay, but is basically what all vertical boiler shays looked like.
Enjoy

Seeing as it would be an interesting experiment to try, I looped the little hooter that comes with this Shay. Would you mind if I released it? If you wouldn't mind, would I need to contact anyone else in order to release the looped whistle?

That's perfectly fine. And no need to ask anyone else as that's my shop built whistle I built. Just make sure to mention who it came from. That's all I ask.
