V2 updated to include option for Switch Lantern. These stands are based on stands used by The Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad. Variations were created using video and images from the D&RGW as well as The Durango & Silverton Narrow Guage Railroad and The Cumbres And Toltec Scenic Railroad, both which run one the D&RGW's former San Juan Extension. Measurements and details for the project were provided by Doug (dajones) at Elvas Towers. Consultant for the signal script was Joseph Hoevet (jovet). Many Thanks to both for the assistance.

Are these operational and animated or just static models?

Looks good either way. :rotfl:

Rick, they are completely operational and animated. Due to the way they are setup they cannot be used as static objects. They work perfectly in MSTS However you will will notice some delays in annimation and some visual anomilies in OR.

Thanks, Jared. I didn't see this function in your description so wasn't sure of what you did do.

These are far better than the Beta version Mike. What you can do with these 4 stands I would have had to have 40 of the Beta versions stands to do. These also have more animation frames. The Betas just had 2 frames and these have 6 frames. If you have any issues drop me a line.

Jared,

An excellant job on the animated D&RGW switchstands. Installation is very easy, they look great and function smoothly in MSTS.
I like the way you set up the flag selections. Certainly simplifys the original installations in the RE.
The flags are highly visible from a distance. No last second guessing by engineer / fireman to know which way points are set.

Now, Sumpter will have working switchstands. Then, Ozark Northern will receive an upgrade from the beta version.

Thanks,

Mike

Thanks Mike. The flags received an upgrade from the original. They are slightly larger and I redesigned the round flags to eliminate the alpha channel and modeled the as round flags. Took up a few more polys but I was more satisfied with the result.

Does anyone have any comments on the length of the ties? I used 14 foot ties on this version.
