MSTS Registry Stuff (Windows XP):

Remove starting logo/movie
  [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\1.0\HWRenderer]

Set value of 'Showlogo' (near the botton of the list)from '1'to '0'

	Before : "ShowLogo"=dword:00000001
	After : "ShowLogo"=dword:00000000

Route Editor Main Window Size Fix
  [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\1.0\HWRenderer]

Before:
Editor main window width 286 (646)
  Editor main window max 00 00 00 00
Editor main window height 20C (524)

After:
Editor main window width 3EE (1006)
  Editor main window max 00 00 00 01
Editor main window height	337 (823)

I set my RE window to 1006x823 to maintain a specific aspect ratio for screen shots. You can use pretty much whatever you like, but practically you need to leave room for the auxiliary editing windows.

OK, I can set it with no problem in my Win 7 (the WOW entry is incomplete, still using the Software/Microsoft/Microsoft Games/Train Simulator/1.0/HWRenderer path) but I can't get it to stay large. I bring up RE with the big screen, make some changes, close it for a while and when I bring up RE again it is back to small.

Ideas? :sign_rockon:

Main window editor should be 01 00 00 00 ... you've got it backwards.

Herb,
My settings in Win7 have never stuck either. I’ve lately, been using “zero Dump 0.1”. You will need to hook it to your re window (simple drag and drop) each session, but better than monkeying with the registry.

"Zero Dump 0.1" = A turd so small it's not considered a bona fide dump.

I was pointed towards "zero dump 0.1" by a conversation on TS. It is a small utility that hooks on to a chosen programs window, and allows you to pick what properties that window will display. I use it on RE to make the maximize window button work and the boarder resizable. If you google it several places to download it show up.

Herb, I have seen multiple entries for the editor window in the registry before. Do a search and make sure you are changing them all if multiple entries exist. Can't explain it but it happens. Wait, yes I can... MICROSOFT.
