Sometimes I have my best ideas late at night. Here is the result of an hour's experimenting - an interesting result, eh? More about it tomorrow, I'm very late for bed.

Captain,
That's a fantastic engine! :naughty: It's almost enough to make me want to install OR on my system. :rotfl:

Wait, is that it?! :rotfl: Have you finally (almost) cracked the secret of turbo-generator exhaust?! :shok: :excl: Does it work for MSTS?! Eeeee!! :jumpy: :D
Wow, if you figure this out we'll have to commission a statue! True, the turbo looks like it's blowing bubbles, and the steam production is anemic, but its a start! :rotfl: :naughty:

One thing I don't like with what I've seen so far with OR and where MSTS is superior is it's pathetic steam and smoke. The shape of smoke is too conical and uniform, and bubbly as you see there. The developers of OR also have the oppertunity to do something MSTS didn't, multiple smoke points for steam leaks, generators, pumps etc. and to give the smoke dynamics. Make it sink, spread and drift with the wind. This African Garratt simulation had smoke that did this.
Working with real steam I hope to see alot of improvement in this field of the sim, it isn't a steam engine if it doesn't make the fog look good. ;)
Bernie, I use the safety valve on my Li'l Lokey to simulate the turbogen.

All part of the TO DO plan.

Sounds great, I hope you'll be able to blow RW away when finished. ;)

Beware my feet of clay! ;)
I'm with Jonatan, we definitely need good steam and smoke emitters and the ability of fine tune them. I must try and contact Adam Kane again and see if he's still interested.

All you need is love, sweet love..................nah, all you need are two stack statements in the .ENG. I'm going to add another to see if that works, too. All I need to find is something to leak steam.....ahhh, yes, I have it.....will post pic later.
Based on experiments years ago, you can't have two such statements in MSTS steam loco's .ENG, but it does currently work in OR (V1050):

PS To remember - the only emission type is a continuous stream.
In the case of the data lines 0.09 and 0.02, these control their respective stack's emission volume. .09 = smoke stack, .02 = gennie steam.

Here we go again - three smoke streams work okay.
Here is the code, my explanation remarks in blue:
