Some screenshots of the excellent Galloping Goose No 5 on this route.

The route is extensive and looks well worth exploring.

I wonder why they didn't use the whole schoolbus chassis?

Cheers Bazza

They only had to replace the rotting Pierce Arrow body and the short section gave them more than enough capacity. Only the war surplus busses worked for this purpose as they had folding doors on both sides so they could be used in nations where you drive on the left as well as nations where you drive on the right. Right side only egress wouldn't have been near enough in case you had to jump from the Goose!

What is interesting is that there was a proposal by the C&S management to utilize a copy of the RGS Goose to try to save the line. Meetings were held between mechanical department folks of both railroads towards putting something together but the abandonment happened too fast or ??? Nothing ever came of the proposal at any rate but we could have had Galloping Geese actually going over Boreas Pass and up the South Platte.

;)

There's a ghost steam locomotive? Or it's just not reading the smoke effects points location correctly. Are you running the latest public release version of OR? There have been many improvements if you aren't already using it.

I'm running version 0.8.0.1251 of OR. I don't know which version is the latest public release!? Maybe the tender could be the problem, because the D&RGW short caboose is also producing smoke in OR. I think both are defined as a steam locomotive!?

Florian

The issue you are experienceing with steam coming from the tender and caboose is due to the fact that they have .eng files and not .wag files. I think this was for Captain Baza's "Bazamotion" annimation that simulates the loco rocking on the rails effect. Correct me if I am wrong Catptain.

That is correct. In order for "BazzaMotion" to work the file has to be an .eng and not a .wag. MSTS lets you tell the computer whether or not to produce smoke and how it should display. OR assigns a generic smoke plume to any .eng file, and not a very good one at that. Bazza's cabeese smoke as well. :oldstry:
