Looks like a great route Christian! :rotfl: And yes, sawmills were prevalent up into the 80's I'd say. A street just north of me that paralleled the 'Belt Line' had many sawmills that survived and did great business long after the rail line was pulled. I fondly refered to the street as 'Lumber Lane'. Now they've all been kicked out and fancy condo's for the aged have been put in. So now I call it 'Alzheimer Ave.' ;)

You smell that wood son? I love the smell of cut wood in the morning! It smells like.... Victory. (Robert Duval from Apocalypse Wood)

You're really capturing the look of that part of Maine. Having summered on the shores of Sebago Lake (literally, ten feet over the town line from Standish, Maine) for many years now, you're doing a great job capturing the feel of eastern Maine. Unfortunately there isn't a trace of the B&SR around the lake anymore, not that I've seen anyway. There are a few historical markers, but that's about it. Keep up the great work.

Hey! Cool, another 2 footer in the works.

I want to know where that good looking water is coming from?

Hi all :-)

Great, that you like my work in progress ;-) And I am glad that I am able to recreate
the landscape of a country 8.000 kms away from my home :oldstry:

I hope I proceed this way :rotfl:

@Rick: The water is custom-made. I wrapped a watertexture from Trainsim on a static plain
and made even my own river-system from it ;-) ...because I hated it to be not able to
recreate minor water-runs ;)

Cheers,

Christian

P.S.: If there`s some interest in my creek-system I`ll pack it in a file and load it up.
I need just a beta-tester before ;-)

Cheers,Christian

Actually Christian, I do admire your creek system. And was considering siphoning it from the Monson onto my GTA route at some point. But if you could pack it up, it makes it that much easier for me. :thumbup3:

I'm liking this 2 foot route. I'm definitely getting a copy when it is finished. :naughty:

Hi gents!

Great that you like it :-)

@ Noisemaker: You voluntereed as my test-dummy, ok :thumbup3: I am currently packing the stuff and sent it to you via PM as soon as its ready :naughty:

@ Herb: Means that I`ve to add a wharf to for making boats ;-) On Long lake you can compete with the "West Sebago". Who`s faster - the steamer or your uncle :derisive:

@ Shay5: Yes the route is coming along very pretty  Btw, did you think about recreating the Gilpin-Shays? I own drawings of all of them and rebuilt one many years ago. Would be a fine addition for the 2-ft empire :pardon:

Cheers,

Christian
