BACKGROUND

The PA1 locomotive was a joint project of ALCO and GE between September 1946 and June 1950. Each unit in the PA1-PB1 series boasted 2,000 HP from an ALCO 244V16 diesel engine. A total of 173 PA1's were built, with 40 PB1's to compliment them. The Pennsylvania Railroad ordered ten of these PA1's and five of the PB1's in 1947-48. The Pennsy classed them AP20 (Alco, Passenger, 2000 HP), road numbers 5750A-5759A for the PA1's and 5750B-5758B by even road numbers for the PB1's.

INSTALLATION NOTES

To Install This quality add-on:

1. Run the included installer, making sure to pinpoint it to the proper location of your copy of MSTS. (Usually C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\Trains\TRAINSET\ ).

2. Then create a consist using ConBuilder (or any consist editing program), and have fun!

3. Sample Consists have been included to allow you to test run the units in A-B, A-B-A, or A-B-B-A setup

SPECIAL THANKS TO:

Dick Cowen, for the amazing PA1 model! It was a pleasure to reskin!

Dwight Mitchell, for the BEST cabviews in MSTS to date. Fully MSTSbin compatible, and good graphics to boot!

Thomas Pearce, for a TON of help getting the nose striping to look right, and for a few last-minute tweaks. If it weren't for you, I'd still have a side-striped unit with no Keystones!

Not to ask a stupid question, but what happened to set 1?

BTW, I'm really looking forward to running these PA1s again! Remember running them years ago, but lost all my old files from bllw.net. Just waiting for my "donator" membership status thingy to clear. I'd really like to have 'em in the red paint of set 1 as well. Any idea where I could get that?

When you ran the set did yours have a bell sound with it? I installed it and had no bell.

*.eng-files for adequate smoke appearance, when running under ORTS
Brake levers now moving faster, cabview is lifted from -17 to 9 deg
It's recommended to place this file to manually-created OpenRails subfolder for not to overwright the original file.

The crew can be shown/hidden by pressing Shift+V (animated as wipers by author)

Hello. Thanks.
As this is nice model - I can improve *.eng-files further.

Crew is part of MAIN shape, not details.
Just have Checked my instance in S-viewer - Crew is present.

Im confused,as the "freight animation" points to a parts .s file.

It's just a way to attach extra parts to model.
In given case - common parts to unique body with crew inside.
Just a term.

So, You can't see a crew in cab of #5750A, when playing?

Did You test it in S-Viewer?

I did not,as I dont know how.Yes Engine #5750A. But after altering the .s current file, it appears the crew is present, but they are behind the cab interior wall, sitting roughly where the letter 'N' in (Penn) is on the side of the loco. Is it possible that the file I downloaded has the incorrect .eng info?If so, do you have an .eng current file that would correct this?

Hello.
How? By clicking *.s-file and choosing "open with... SViewer".
What "altering current *.s-file" means?
I'll try it in game to see, how it looks, but these *.eng-files don't have data about shape positions, except calling the model.

I meant editing the .s file , sorry .Still no luck though.

You're probably looking for Shape File Viewer 2.5.
https://www.trainsim...right&fid=31888
You can use the shift tool to move the .s's position in the world.
It comes in pretty handy.
Let me know if you need help with it.

So,I was able to see the file through the shape viewer provided in the link. . As stated, crew is visible, just not there when I load it into OR. Very odd! :(
