In about 1935 Texaco leased 10 tank cars numbered TCX 70 to 70 from GATX.. TCX 70 -73 were double dome cars and TCX 74-49 were the more common single dome cars. Little is known about the operation of these double dome cars, as there were only three of them, and it appears that they were gone from the D&RGW by 1955.

This model was built from plans by Robert Sloan published in “A Century + Ten of the D&RGW Narrow Gauge Freight Cars, 1871 to1981, 2nd Edition” by Robert Sloan. This publication was also the source of several reference pictures, as well as all historical data.

Howard Saunders did the initial testing, made all physics adjustments, and tweaked most of the texturing. Herb Kelsey did intermediate testing, and Tom Werb did the final beta testing. Howard Saunders also contributed the screen shot. The model was made using 3D Canvas (now called 3D Crafter), which I recommend highly.

I hope you all enjoy it, Bill
