I use MSTS as my main simulator, but I decided to try OR. Can anybody explain it? I also get this error when I try to use it.

Hi,
Open Rails requires a graphics card capable of displaying shader model 2.0. It appears that yours doesn't meet the minimum requirements. Could you tell us a little about your system and what make and model is your graphics card to assist in debugging the issue?
Thanks

Shay,
I'm sorry but your video card does not support the minumun requirements to run Open Rails which is Directx 9.0c with Shader Model 2.0. Here's the specs for your card from IBM's web site.
T30 Video Card
ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 chipset
AGP 4X
16MB DDR-SDRAM
166MHz bus
R7500 - DirectX 8.0
ATI's first graphics processor to be DirectX 8 compliant. It was introduced in 2001. RV200 features onchip DDR memory controller and comes with initial programmable vertex shader support. The only release was the Radeon 7500

To bad. :) Some day, I will upgrade. But I did install OR on my family's Windows 7 machine. I have never seen so much detail. I guess OR simply runs on MSTS. How do I get the stable release?

There is no stable release, it is still in development and will be for SOME time yet.

I guess that goes for the controls too. They are missing too.
