These are known as "Hollywoods" because they first made their appearance and were widely used on the Hollywood lines, as well as on other lines of the PE.

160 cars of this type were built in 1922 (600-649), 1924 (650-699) by the St. Louis Car Company and in 1925 (700-749) by J.G.Brill. In 1928 ten more cars were built by St.Louis. The 750's had roller bearings and brass sash and spent almost all their lives on the Hollywood-Venice Line before the 1940 modernization program. Cars 735-749 were re-built in 1938 for service between Los Angeles and Van Nuys. The motors were re-wound for increased speed from 28 mph to 45 mph. They were given their own distinctive red and cream paint jobs and immediatey recieved the nickname of "Valley Sevens". They remained thus until caught up in the 1940 modernization program which brough the entire 600-700 class up to the Valley Sevens peformance level. The entire class was upgraded in 1939-40 at PE's Torrance Shops and acquired the butterfly paint scheme.

The model is a rebuild of the original copy released at Train-Sim.com in 2003 of the "Butterfly" modernized Hollywoods. The original mesh was heavily modified to back-date the body to their original configuration. Animations were also introduced to learn myself how it is done in TSM. The trolley poles, couplers and Eclipse fenders are animated to change ends when cabs are switched. The front doors on either end are animated by using the Ctrl+NumPad8 keys (Mirror Animations). The center doors are operated by keying Ctrl+NumPad7 for the Left-Hand doors and Ctrl+NumPad9 for the Right-hand doors. The front doors can be opened while still rolling, but the side doors can only be opened or closed when the car is fully stopped.

!!You must have at least Bin Patch v1.7.1022 installed in your MSTS root folder to use this model or you will get engine file errors!!

This set contains three models (and .con files for all):

#602 is a stand-alone car (to be run singly ) with animated Westinghouse couplers and Eclipse fenders that swing out of the way on BOTH ends, so coupling a second or third car would not work visually.

#626 is meant to be the First car in a two-car Multiple-Unit train with the rear fender and coupler locked in a permament position for train operation: Coupler centered and fender raised up above the coupler.

#653 is built to be the Rear-most car in an MU train with the front coupler permamently centered and front fender locked in the up position.

There is also in this set a motorman and conductor as a FreightAnim part. Because they can't be reversed when changing ends, they look odd when facing the wrong way. You can opt to remove them by deleting the "FreightAnim ( 600crew.s 1 1 )" line entirely. #653 has a single conductor FreightAnim part.

This is an old model with lots of textures. It's the last result of the many earlier Hollywood models,as a test-bed for animations, so may be a bit inefficient in the use of parts and textures.
