Tim,
This Mobil station is a beautiful bit of modeling. I like it so much that I am building a physical HO scale one, all from card-stock, and complete with lighted gas pump globes, and some interior detail. I will upload some photos when it's done... if photos of physical models inspired by the virtual ones is not too unusual or off topic for the forum. What section would I post such photos to?
Either way, thanks for a beautiful model!
JAT

Here are photos of a card-stock model I just completed in HO scale from Tim Muir's beautiful Mobil station.

Hope I'm not going about posting this to the forum the wrong way. If so, please let me know.

:jawdrop2: THAT is so COOL! And I'm deeply honored, JAT, thank you!! I love what you've done and am going to save those photos. I would think that the General thread would be OK to post these in. I wonder if this type of reverse modeling has been done before. :thumbup3:

Tim,
I'm so glad you liked it. Your work was inspiring, particularly so on this one. That is to say, it just begged to be built. Given the contect of the forum, I think you have coined the phrase correctly, "reverse modeling"!

Easily one of the most beautiful looking add-ons for MSTS. Thank you Mr. Muir!

That is something JAT, nicely done! You've kept Tim's integrity all over it, and truly does look amazing in 'true' 3D. :oldstry:

Thanks! Tim makes it easy, with models that are so well thought out and beautifully textured.
