Great video that demonstrates the AI intelligence to drop off a consist, uncouple the switching engine plus pickup the remaining consist with the Player engine. Lots of traffic on parallel tracks, too.

Congratulations to Doug for implementing this wonderful capability in Open Rails.

I was thinking of starting a community videos thing on the openrails youtube page. I just need to figure out how I'm going to do it :wheelchair:

Makes me wonder if, when changing cameras, we can introduce some kind of file editors tricks into the code to provide dissolves and fades like you can do w/ video editing software.... I like dissolves myself but that looks v. hard to do live... I betcha a 1 second fade could be done: half the current frame rate to incrementally darken-to-opaque, move the camera, half the current frame rate to incrementally remove the darkness. Wonder what the technical issues are tho....

Walter,
We should consider updating the links to videos on the OR website in conjunction with the Jan public download

That would be a great idea, Chris. :)

Impressive videos! Now with the Sandpatch one - is that MLT's route? And I take it that it's been modified by Eric in regards to scenery? Still trying to wrap my head around what this OR stuff is doing vs.MSTS. But if these routes were FPS killers before, and running that smooth with OR now - that's great! :bigboss:
