Sir,
I have one problem with open rails v 0.9. Consider a locomotive pulling 18 coaches (single loco). At one station it has to reverse its direction. then the locomotive has to be shunted and to be attached to the rear end of the train. We have the provision for changing the cab by pressing Ctrl+E.But after attaching to the rear end at night and moving in the reverse direction it is seen that the engine lights don't work when moving in the reverse direction. But in m.s.t.s., if m.s.t.s. bin is installed, in reverse direction the lights will work i.e., illumination will be there in the reverse direction. Hence it requested to make necessary modifications in the next experimental release on wards.
Regards,
Rohit R. Krishnan.

I have also experienced something like this , what I found though if one saved then resumed OR would work OK, ie the directions were correctly set.

Very desirable, Herb, but the goalposts keep shifting. The OR PROJECT is in a state of constant flux, and so many changes are being made, quite rapidly, that it would be [almost] impossible to track and chronicle them.
Many important features are not well documented and the danger is that people working on the development will have forgotten 'what, when, why and how', and critical information will be lost.
No reflection on anyone involved is intended, [in my opinion] it's based on observation of what's happened over the last few years.
Cheers Bazza.

I fully understand. I first downloaded this program (this time around) on August 19th. I have made so many changes to so much equipment, consists, activities and routes that I haven't got a clue as to what I've done and what I need yet to do to get OR running as I like it, so I can understand the moving goalposts! ;) And I've actually tried to document most of the stuff! And I haven't even touched the code!
OBTW, if I ever get the chance to fully thank you for the .eng file cabooses that are parked in virtually all of my RGS' 129 activities as loose consists waiting to be picked up - and crash the sim ....... well let's just say it's a good thing you're so far away. :D I'm much balder now..... :rotfl:

Do you mean the website FAQ?
What would you like to see added, changed or removed?

This basic OR FAQ is out-dated, although some parts are still relevant.

I spent a bit of time over the summer bringing the FAQ webpage up to date.
If there are any answers which are wrong then please be specific. But if you think the questions should be changed, then what do you have in mind?
Thanks,
