Not sure if this has been wished for but, how about track that lays on the ground. 'floating' track looks soooooo bad.

I wonder how many train simmers are that involved they really know the road and what the various signals mean? I support the idea if it leads to education and more knowledgeable operation.

Ack, I missed this one.

I for one am not so knowledgeable about the various routes and roads that I run on/with that I understand their signal aspects, systems and rules. It doesn't help that I've got ten or fifteen routes representing a pile of companies, some of which are fictional. Despite several years of a somewhat aggressive acquisition policy, I've only got rulebooks for the N&W in the late 1970s and the Penn Central/Conrail in the late 1960s/early 1970s, and maybe the Chessie System in the late 1970s. That sounds great, but it's really not, considering that I've got roads 'n routes stretching from the 1930s to the present day.

MLT's route documents are great for assisting me, but I can't constantly be paging in and out of the sim to figure out what each signal is and what it actually means for me to do. Furthermore, I'm too cheap to print the things and rarely have the ability to run around with a folder of those printouts.

Something that could be coded with the signal system of any given route would perhaps be ideal. It's more work on the route builder, but there are devotees of signal aspects out there who could deliver the data. There is, after all, an essentially fixed number of them in use today and in history.

Most of my suggestions apply to steam engines, but can also apply to diesels.

-Automatic stoker to properly represent the majority of North American big steam.

-Proper support for oil burners.

-Multiple steam and smoke exhaust emitters for steam engines. I'd like to be able to have exhaust steam and smoke mixing together. :wheelchair:

-Heat distortion for exhaust and steam emitters.

-Customizable emitters. I think it'd be an excellent feature that would allow steam and diesel builders to create custom steam, smoke or exhaust emitters for whatever functions we might want, such as compressor exhaust, boiler blowdown exhaust, etc. Possibly the ability to assign custom key bindings to custom functions.

-Grouping of emitters to specific functions (cylinder cocks etc.)

-Support for articulated steam.

-Support for more complex steam engine animations, specifically reversing gear.

-If possible, flexible hosing.
