QRR_S1_4 reskin from Alco S-1 Reskin Kit
Credits:
Original Alco S-1 shape file and hardware textures copyright Allen Norton used with permission.
Coupler and Airhose shapes and textures copyright David Rowe.
Model detailed and reskin kit by Richard A. Percy.
QRR S1 4 reskin by Mike Gray
Setup:
You may wish to unzip to a temporary folder first.
Requires Alco S-1 Reskinning Kit from Elvas Tower library - Early Diesels ( Pre - 1960 ) for Cabview and Sound folders.
Copy Cabview folder from Alco S-1 Reskinning Kit to QRR_S1_4 folder.
Requires "ALS4_Alias_Files.zip" from Elvas Tower library - Cabviews & Sound Files for the sound files setup. To setup, follow the ALS4_Alias_Files instructions. Copy the four ALS4xxxx.sms files from the Alias folder to the QRR_S1_4 Sound folder.
The QRR_S1_4 engine file is set up for the default multi-chime horn sound. To use the single-chime horn, change the two engine sound lines from ALS4xxx2.sms to ALS4xxx1.sms. If you are familiar with sound aliasing, feel free to install whatever sounds you prefer.
If not there already, install QRR_S1_4 folder into your desired \Trains\Trainset folder.
Copy the engine consist file from the QRR_S1_4 folder to your desired \Consist folder and give #4 a run.
Background:
This engine began as Western Pacific 504 in 1942. WP 504 became Sacramento Northern 504 in 1967. In 1973 SN 504 became QRR 4. This repaint represents the initial Quincy RR paint scheme. Since 2005, QRR 4, in a later paint scheme, resides at the Feather River Railway Museum in Portola California.
The 3D Trains MSTS WP Feather River route has a branch line of the Quincy RR where QRR 4 can prototypically roam.
Disclaimer:
This reskin is not intended to be an exact replica of the prototype.
These reskins did not harm my computer when using them, they should not cause your computer to crash. These reskins are provided and given in good faith, but as I have no control as to how you may use them, I can offer no warranty, nor guarantee any results.
