Setup:
You may wish to unzip to a temporary folder first.
Requires Alco RS-1 Reskinning Kit from Elvas Tower library - Early Diesels ( Pre - 1960 ) for Cabview and Sound folders.
Follow the RS1_readme to set up the S4sound.zip into the Reskinning Kit sound folder
Copy the Cabview and generated Sound folders to the PRR_RS1_9917 folder.
Requires "ALS4_Alias_Files.zip" from Elvas Tower library - Cabviews & Sound Files for the sound files setup. To setup, follow the ALS4_Alias_Files instructions. Copy the four ALS4xxxx.sms files from the Alias folder to the PRR_RS1_9917 Sound folder.
The PRR_RS1_9917 engine file is set up for the default multi-chime horn sound. To use the single-chime horn, change the two engine sound lines from ALS4xxx2.sms to ALS4xxx1.sms. If you are familiar with sound aliasing, feel free to install whatever sounds you prefer.
If not there already, copy the PRR_RS1_9917 folder into your desired \Trains\Trainset folder.
Copy the engine consist file from the PRR_RS1_9917 folder to your desired \Consist folder and give 9917 a test run.
Background:
PRR RS1 9917 was delivered to the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1948. No disposition information found.
Disclaimer:
This reskin is not intended to be an exact replica of the prototype.
