Rio Grande Southern Extra 455 West
Hello RGS fans! Here is an additional activity for your downloaded version of RGS Version 4. It is a local freight operation using K-27 455. We find the 455 on a run from Rico to Dolores and return. We’re in the siding at Stapleton. It’s 5:09 PM on a Summer’s day and we have just allowed Train 371 to pass us there about 15 minutes before. We’re still here working on a hotbox on D&RGW gondola #1776. The conductor has just informed us that the journal is badly damaged and says we’ll have to cut out the 1776 and leave it on the siding for the carshop guys to get down and fix it.
The attached files will find you on the above stage, ready to cut out the gon and get about the business of switching Dolores and getting back to Rico.
To install this activity, merely download the zip file, zip it to a neutral place of your choosing then copy the Routes and Trains folder to your copy of the RGS, accepting an overwrite on the folders and files, and you should be good to load up ORTS and start running Extra 455 West. You will find the work orders in the Routes/RGS-V4/documents folder.
Additionally in the trains folder you will find a fresh copy of D&RGW Boxcar 3333. The old one had some incorrectly named files and, if you used it, would only display the FreightAnim parts and no boxcar!
Since it is October, time for the annual stock rush, you will also find a consist for an 11 car double-deck stock train featuring RGS C-19 No. 40 and caboose 0400. Ready to run to handle sheep.
I hope you enjoy this new activity. I hope to provide more activities and equipment in the future as we continue to enjoy the RGS.
