This little Loco was the first design of Charles Heisler, and was
built in 1891 by the Dunkirk Engineering Co, where Heisler was
employed at the time. It only weighed 14 tons, and was built for F.
A. Addington, who had his name put on on the cab sides.

This model was built with 3D Canvas (now known as 3D Crafter) and made
from copies of the patent application drawings for the Loco, that were
obtained from the Geared Steam Locomotive Works web site. The above
historical information is from the same source

This Loco model was the most difficult to build, of any I have ever
built, and took three years and two month from start to finish. The
major problem was getting the wheels and rods to rotate properly, and
was caused by MSTS and ORTS animating the wheels and rods the way they
thought they should be animated, instead of the way I wanted them to
be. We even tried making each truck a separate Loco, for a “three Loco
model”. This solved the animation problem, but induced many others.

The problem was finally solved by naming the wheels “rounds” and the
rods “bars”, so that the Sims. would not recognize them and try to
animate them their way. This is the only model I know of that has
rounds and bars, instead of wheels and rods.

Many others helped me on this project, and it could not have been
accomplished without them. Howard Saunders did the initial testing
and physics adjusting, Tom Werb spent an tremendous amount of time
assisting me in converting the original “one Loco model” to a “three
Loco model”. Rick “thegrindre” performed testing and supplied the wood
texture, Derek Miller made sever suggestions for overcoming problems
with 3DC, and Herb Kelsey performed most testing and physics adjusting
and packaged the model for uploading. My apologies to anyone I may
have missed, three years is a long time for an old mind like mine to
remember all involved.

To install this locomotive simply unzip the BabyHeisler.zip file to
your desktop and drag the TRAINS folder thus created to the root of
your route's directory (where your current "TRAINS" and "ROUTES"
folders are located). When your computer asks if you want to merge
the new TRAINS folder with the old TRAINS folder say "Yes." Now go
enjoy your new engine.

Last, but not least, the Screenie was supplied by Herb Kelsey.

Hope you all enjoy it.
