Prototype:
From 1891 to 1896, about 50 Dunkirk-B locomotives were built in Dunkirk N.Y. They were used primarily in the eastern U.S. in logging operations.
Twin cylinders in a in-cab "V" configuration drove all four axles through a center shaft. Compared to other gear locomotives, most of the Dunkirk-B's were lightweights at 16 tons.
They were available in standard and narrow gauge configurations.
Model:
Created with 3DCrafter 9.3 from plans by David Hoffman in the booklet "The Geared Locomotives of Dunkirk".
Custom crew figures by Sandy River Tom.
The model is for MSTS and ORTS.
