MSTS Two 1860's-1930's WOODEN RAILROAD CROSSING SIGNS
Mesh © 2014 by Tim Muir
Painted Wood Grain Textures from cgtextures.com
Concept and reference photos from Bernard R. Trubowitz (Bernie)

I made these two signs for Bernie's narrow gauge route project. He sent me several scans of various examples from books. They appealed to me, so after three or four weeks procrastinating, I gave them a whirl. Here they are, two versions of the signs in their earlier 19th century aspects.

From Bernie:

"These signs were used by the B&M, but the photos I sent you were from a railroad later owned by the Boston & Albany. This railroad was the Athol & Enfield, aka the Springfield, Athol, & North-eastern, aka the Springfield & North-eastern. From the further research I have done, I have found these types of signs were in use as early as the Civil War!"

Cool, huh?
