SOME HISTORY:
The narrow gauge coaches of the Denver and Rio Grande Western represented here were all built between 1880 and 1882 by Jackson & Sharp. With "Duck Bill" roofs and arched windows, they were gradually modified over the years, with each car retaining subtle differences. While many of the cars either dismanteled in the early 1940s, with some sold to the National Railways of Mexico, a few lingered on in branch line and Silverton service. This set represents the coaches as they appeared in the 1930s-1940s, includng modified roofs with "bull nose" ends, and double pane windows.

Coach 280 was built in 1880 by Jackson & Sharp, and served accross the D&RGW in various services. It was one of the first cars painted in the Rio Grande Gold paint scheme in 1950, before being sold to the city of Boulder for display. It was repainted to its original configuration, and is currently on display at the Colorado Railroad Museum.

Coach 284 was built in 1881 by Jackson & Sharp, and served accross the D&RGW in various services. It had the distinction of being used on the branch to Santa Fe, receiving a bay window at this time. It survived late into the narrow gauge era, serving on the Silverton line until being sold to the Colorado Railroad Museum, where it survives today, restored to its "Chili Line" form.

Coach 306 was built in 1881 by Jackson & Sharp. It was modified with a bay window for Chili Line service until that line was abandoned in 1941. It was repainted in Rio Grande Gold for the silverton Train in 1950, and served on the Silverton until the late 1960s. It survives to this day, serving on the Huckleberry Railroad near Flint, Michigan.

TO INSTALL:
Unzip D&RGW_Pass_Coaches1.zip to a temporary folder; then, move the contents to the
..Train Simulator\TRAINS\TRAINSET directory. Then, build a consist using the
consist editor; the passenger car will appear as "COACH DRGW 280".

REQUIREMENTS:
These models were tested on an MSTS-bin system - their high poly-count may make them unstable on other systems.
