***Version B1.0***

The installation readme doc is not included, but is available in the support topic page, see link above..

The model is a WIP, althought it is mostly done. Work remaining to be done is mentioned in the readme.

Your feedback is welcomed.

ENJOY!

***Notes 1***

These boxy, hence box-cab, 29 foot, double bogie, 350 HP, oil-electric locomotives were a design child of 1920's technology. They were amongst the first generation of locomotives of the now ubiquitous diesel-electric MPU type.

There were several similar designs of box-cabs during the mid to late 1920's, based on an approximately 29 foot chassis and driven by a 350HP oil engine, as diesel fueled locos were originally referred to, in turn powering an electric generator, which fed current to two traction motors per bogie.

The example I have produced is the type with roof mounted flat radiators. It is a type used by the ERIE RR / BEDT around the docks and for switching cars on and off the railroad's fleet of tugboat towed rail floats and was numbered #19.

***Installation***

1) Install includes common.sound and BZZ-SG-BEDT-BCab1 folders in the Trainset folderfolder. These are in the ZIP which should install them into the trainset folder.

2) Check that both folders are present in the Trainset folder.

3) There is no cabview and no separate sound folder - sounds are aliased to the common.sound folder, as per 1).

4) Make up a consist to suit the era, such as the ERIE wagons from the ET file library. Don't overload the locomotive, it was used for switching empties and full cars, so adjust the tonnage to suit, so you may need to experiment. Remember, the greater the tonnage, the harder it is to stop.

5) This beta release is to gain feedback about the switching ability of the locomotive, with consists as per 4).

***Notes 2***

The model is still a 'work in progress', this includes 3d detailing and some 2d texture artwork.

Open Rails is also a WIP, thus some features of the sim may change with future versions.

This model has weathered texturing, because I believe it reflects the harsh environment the prototype work in. I refrained from adding bird droppings, but rust never sleeps.

The main texture is 2048x2048, 24bit @ 96 pixels per inch. There are 60,129 poly faces. All body rivets are 2d added per an alph'd decal. There are four textures in total.

Due to an oversight, the bell is not currently textured, but this does not affect loading in Open Rails. (To be fixed.) The bell soundFX is not available.

The lightingFX setup is incomplete at this time. (To be fixed.) (Update: mostly fixed.)

Braking: I have further tweaked the brakes to reflect this is a switching loco and good braking
is required for accurate stopping distances - this of course depends on the tonnage being switched!
Brake rigging is still to be added.

Further bogie detail and textures will be added and tweaked for Beta 2.0.

Your feedback will help me with final tuning of the ENG, thank you.

ENJOY!
Bazza
