The 1700-1789 group of cars was built in 1921 by the Pacific Car and Foundry Co.in Renton, WA. These were the first as-built steel underframe cars on the NP. A pair of 12-inch steel channels formed the center sill, and castings were used for the car bolsters and buffers. The carbody was all wood construction. The 1700's originally had K-type air brakes, but were later updated in the 1950's with AB-type brakes. Cast-steel truck sideframes were used for the first time on these buggies. Total cost for each car was $4,614.61 in 1921.

Install by unzipping to a temporary folder. Move Contents to your TRAINS/Trainset folder. Build a consist in your favorite consist editor.

NP Cab_1734_Flagged.wag - Caboose equipped with metal paddle type flags as used by most NP branchline trains on the west end of the railroad during daylight hours.
